So you’ve written a work that you are crazy excited about. So much so, that you have decided to publish it. Here are the steps to take to ensure that it is a complete failure. (In other words DON’T DO THIS if you want to actually succeed!)

       1. “I don’t think it needs editing.” No matter what advice you get from others, only listen to those who are going to say nice things about you. Especially the ones who say, “It’s perfect like it is!” That is, after all, what you think already.

“Lousy, poorly edited and written books live forever, just like the good ones.”

       2. Don’t research the subject. Just type out your first thoughts and impressions. After all, who doesn’t just want to listen to your thoughts on any subject. And when you go to publish your book, absolutely insist that you can figure it out on your own. After all, your good at everything, right??

“Ignorance is bliss, but bliss will not craft a high-quality book.”

       3. Don’t tell others about what you have done. Try to let “the book do the talking” and expect those who read it to advertise for you. After all, the really great authors don’t need to toot their own horn.

“Not all marketing people are writers, but all writers need to learn to become marketers.”

If you are ready to publish your book THE RIGHT WAY, why not give McKinney Publishing a chance to lead you through it!
