\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Passover is an annual celebration for the Jewish people that has been celebrated since the very first \u201cPassover\u201d when the Angel of Death \u201cpassed over\u201d the children of Israel when they were in Egypt.\u00a0 This holiday is one of the most cherished events for Jews, even today.\u00a0 However, for Christians as well, Passover can be a very meaningful time for several reasons.\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 First, God is the same today, yesterday, and forever (Heb 13:8).\u00a0 It was Him who instituted the Passover, and we can learn about Him and His ways when we study what He instituted for men on the earth. He also indicated in Exodus 12:17 that this celebration is to continue \u201cforever.\u201d\u00a0 Secondly, the symbolism of the Passover is very explicitly (and excitingly) foreshadowing the first (and second) coming of Jesus on the earth.\u00a0 Jews celebrate this holiday out of obligation, but Christians can celebrate it with understanding.\u00a0 Thirdly, you are already celebrating the Passover regularly, when you take the \u201cLord\u2019s Supper\u201d or \u201cCommunion!\u201d\u00a0 The \u2018last supper\u2019 of Jesus, which we remember during the \u2018Lord\u2019s supper\u2019 was, in fact, a Passover service!\u00a0 Our celebration of it is a (very) shortened form of this event.\u00a0 By learning about the \u2018full\u2019 Passover celebration, we will understand even more the significance of what is meant by what we do as a Church body on Sunday morning. Celebrating the Passover as a Christian can be a very meaningful way to enrich your understanding of the God we serve and the heritage we have been given.<\/p>
