Why we do what we do

We were founded in 2015 with a vision to deliver your message to the world and be a doorway to those who would have difficulty otherwise getting published. 

How we started

McKinney Publishing started when its founder tried to publish a work that had been on his heart for many years. After toiling with the creative process for a long time, he attempted to contact countless conventional publishing houses, only to be told that “self-publishing” was the only way his book would ever make it to print. Undaunted, he contacted “self-publishing” companies and was soon inundated with calls from representatives clearly making their living on what services they could push on unknowledgeable prospective authors. The numerous opinions and ‘options’ became dizzying, and the cost started to spiral out of control. 

“Wait a minute!” he cried, “There must be a better way!”

The Solution

After thoroughly researching all the options and putting together a team of experts who felt the same way about the publishing process, McKinney Publishing was born. We recognize that the ability to write is a God-given talent, and the drive to see those works published often represents an obligation to put those talents wisely to use. There is usually a message placed on your heart, and it feels like it must be told. We can help. McKinney Publishing is a doorway to the publishing world for those who, in the past, would have been left standing on the outside. We provide traditional, high-quality publication services for those with a message to tell but who don't have the contacts and access to do it on their own. We bring years of experience to the table, with lots of life lessons on what works (and what doesn't) when it comes to publishing. We have also made meaningful connections that will help provide some validation and acceptance for your work. We are a member of the CBA (the association for Christian Retail), and our works are carried out by Spring Arbor Distributors (the #1 distributor for Christian titles). We cannot guarantee any work will be a best seller (in all honesty, no one can), but we can guide through the process to help our authors make wise choices and maximize their ability to realize their dream.
